Again? Are You Serious???

Before I gripe, I have to give Candy and Dawn a HUGE thank-you for letting Wendy and me tag along to Twilight! It was AWESOME!!! :-) Thank-you, Thank-you, Thank-you!

Onto the gripe:
It's 4:34 a.m.
I was working on a project.
Can't sleep while in the middle of something.
No biggie.
Stayed up.
Then, thought I'd upload some pics to my dropshots site.
AGAIN, I was unable to upload.
This has happened a few times this year.
In June it took well over a month for them to basically tell me they had no idea why I couldn't upload pictures. Just for me to then check my bank account and see that they NEVER charged me that month. Duh! Hello... why didn't they check that??? They charge me like $4/mo. I love DropShots! Seriously, I have gazillions (ok... a lot) of pix on there. I love how they organize them for me by date. It's so easy to use. BUT, why can't the company get their crap together and quit messing up my account??? It's so discouraging. (And yes... for those of you wondering... I checked my bank account to make sure there was $4 in there!!! ;-) hehehee)

Okay. Done griping for now. Going to bed. Calvin will be home in 5.5 hours. That's not much sleepy time for me.

Cinnamon Toast

I came across this Cinnamon Toast drink recipe on MSN today. Sounds like something I'd enjoy drinking on a cold day like today.
1 1/4 ounce(s) Captain Morgan Original Spiced Rum
6 ounce(s) hot apple cider
1 tablespoon(s) sugar
1 tablespoon(s) cinnamon

Add hot apple cider and Captain Morgan Original Spiced Rum to a glass rimmed with sugar and cinnamon.

I'm 26. A wife. A mom. A student.

I am studying web development and desktop publishing. I decided to take some of these new skills to the Blog level.

I know... the layout isn't flawless. I am not a CSS genius... but this is the beginning. And everybody has to start somewhere, right?

Why is it that I think best after 10:00 pm??? It's crazy! Why can't I think like this during normal daytime hours? I'm nuts. Heading to bed. G'Nite!

If You Can't Smile... Fake It!

Writing Prompt Assignment Courtesy of Mama's Losin It. I thought this was a pretty funny topic.

How to get along with an enemy...
We all have enemies... or at least people that annoy us.  Or, ones that we don't care to be around.  If you say you don't... well that's really hard to believe.
I was taught to be nice to everyone.  Play nice, be polite, etc. etc.  It seemed more simple when I was a child.  Now, as an adult it's tough!
My Philosophy:
I'm a firm believer that if you can't smile... fake it!  And if faking it is too tough... medicate yourself.  A Xanax cocktail will help you smile every time!  :-)

"Obama Chic"

Repeat after me:  "Obama Chic"
It's a catchy phrase.
Learn it.  Remember it.  And embrace yourself for it.
I've always been interested in White House decor.  I've wondered who decorates it and how the decisions are made.  Also... budget?  I found this article and thought some of you might enjoy it.

Although I'm not flattered by the election results, my political passions have not dissolved.  So, with an open mind, I post this... taking a positive interest in the Obama's... at least in their home-decorating fashion sense.  Obama Chic.

Thanking All Servicemen & Women and Veterans

Words cannot express my sincere gratitude to the servicemen and women of our military and the veterans that have served our great nation.

"Thank-you" doesn't seem good enough.  These men and women have dedicated their lives or a portion of their life to defending, protecting, and fighting for our country.

This year I'd like to specially thank Grandpa Larry and Grandpa Ambrose for their service for our country.  Our nation is indebted to you for your service.

Special mention for a top-notch Airman... TSgt Amy S.  Not only is she my friend, comrade, and Jackson's mom... but she is a well respected NCO in the USAF.  You go, girl!

I am proud to be an American.  I am even prouder that I am a veteran of the United States Air Force.  So, how am I spending my Veteran's Day?  Lunch with my inlaws (thanks!) and soon... leaving for my hour long massage, courtesy of my wonderful husband!

This song reminds me of my days in boot camp... when we had to sing it each morning before PT.  Some of you might recognize the beat from my wedding.  This was the song played at the end of the wedding as Chris and I walked down the aisle.  :-)

Off we go into the wild blue yonder,
Climbing high into the sun;
Here they come zooming to meet our thunder,
At 'em boys, Give 'er the gun!
Down we dive, spouting our flames from under,
Off with one hell of a roar!
We live in fame or go down in flame. HEY!
Nothing'll stop the U.S. Air Force!

I don't know who you are but you do.
The gift was a wonderful surprise.
So, if you were the one that left the
green gift bag with the purple ribbon on my door...
thank-you.  :-)

Did I really smell that bad?!?

Picked out a shirt to wear this morning.
Hadn't worn the shirt since I don't remember when.  Maybe a year or so.
Put it on.
A little time went by.
Kept smelling a horrible odor.
Didn't know what it was.
Not the trash.
Not the refrigerator.
Not Calvin.
Seemed that I smelled it the most when I moved.
How odd.
Finally, smelled my arm pits.
Took the shirt off.
Smelled my armpits... fresh and cleen.
Smelled the shirt.
It was the was rank!
As gross as this sounds, I must not have washed the shirt after it was worn last.  It must have been hung up dirty by mistake.  Makes me wonder if I really smelled that bad once.  Or had normal body odor manifested into pure stench over time?  I'm just glad I didn't leave the house today smelling like that!!!

It's 0300 hours.
I'm wide awake - or at least my eyes aren't closed.
Been up working on my website.
Got in the groove. Couldn't stop.
Hours have passed.
Last time I looked at the clock it was a little after 11.
Where did the last 4 hours go???
Anyway, I noticed that I'm breathing like people do when they're asleep. Big, calm breaths. So it's like I'm asleep but I'm not. Does this count for sleep?

I am heading to bed. Going to try to get some sleep.

I Miss You

Just when I thought I was getting on with life a little, I was reminded of the pain, loss, and irreversible circumstances that losing you left me with.  I hurt for me.  I hurt for Calvin.  I hurt for my future children that will never know what they missed out on.  I hurt for my family.  I hurt for the ones that will grieve for their loss in the future.

I do not understand why God took you from me.  I suspect that during my lifetime here on Earth, I will never know.

I miss you so much.  I am so sad.  I try to hide it or ignore the pain, but it's there.  And as the holidays are nearing, I know it's going to get tougher.  I owe it to Chris and Calvin to have on a smiling face.  I will need to be strong for the rest of my family.  Dad, please... if you can... help me.  I need you now more than ever.

To my readers:   I am also asking for special prayers for a family member and the rest of the family as they cope with a situation.  I hope you understand that at this time I cannot be specific.  Just please pray for this family that needs prayers to ease their pain.  Thank-you.

In Need Of A Massage!

My muscle spasms are not getting any better. They definitely seem to be stress induced which totally sucks because if you know me... I stress very easily.

I take muscle relaxers only when it's nearly unbearable or I need to be comfortable to sleep. Otherwise, picture me putting icey hot on my back with a spatula and rubbing it with a Pampered Chef rolling pin thingamajiggy. Your visual is probably as comical as it really is! :-)

I need a massage. I think a deep tissue massage to work out all the knots would help. Anybody want to donate a massage for me??? ;-) I'm kind of kidding. I know that a massage does not fit into our pre-Christmas Disney trip budget. But man oh man... I really want one!

Do I have any massage therapy student readers that need someone to practice on??? ;-)

Hot Chocolate, Casper, and Lots of Laughs!

Last night Calvin and I made ourselves some hot chocolate, found Casper on On Demand, and got blankets and pillows out for a night on the couch. We had so much fun watching Casper and camping out on the couch. We do this every week or two and it really is special fun time for us.

Calvin, last night you made me laugh so hard. You are a real entertainer! I enjoyed our camp out on the couch. I love that you love hot chocolate as much as I do! Cheers! Looking forward to the next camp out!

Cut & Color Day!

Today was Cut & Color Day! :-) My favorite day every 6-8 weeks. Today was extra fun. We cut off some hair! It was much over-do.

These pix don't do my hair justice. It's super-duper cute! I don't mean to sound full of myself. Just lovin' the new look!

The back is stacked at the bottom. With texturizer in the back, it looks really fun and messy. But - not overdone. For awhile I thought I'd grow my hair out long again. Then, my hair growth process hit that awkward length where it wasn't long or short and I couldn't do anything with it. I found myself trying to stretch it into a ponytail. Then I remembered, the ponytail was the reason I cut my hair off to begin with. I never did my hair when it was long - just threw it in a ponytail. I was so glad to get my hair cut today! The fact that it was laying on my neck was driving me crazy!

Anyway, I love the cut and color!!! :-)

Call Bridget - or any of the girls at The French Quarter Salon and Day Spa in Effingham for a new cut, color, manicure, pedicure, massage, waxing, style, or make-up application. The girls make the experience fun, relaxing, and rejuvenating! Call 217-342-3435, today!

I'm Crushed!

Fresh from Fox News - Obama was elected President.

I'm devestated. I'm speechless. I'm scared for our nation's future. I am disappointed in the media for promoting him and crushing McCain. Liberal media sucks! I am disappointed in uneducated votes. I am frustrated by the votes that were decided purely on race.

As for now, I'll stay in the U.S.A. I have extremely low expectations for Obama and think that our great nation will regret the day they elected a man with a lack of morals, terrorist ties, and has limited knowledge of war. Don't be surprised to some day read a post from me saying we're moving. I have always been extremely patriotic and so very proud of our country. I hope Obama doesn't single-handedly ruin the country that so many men and women have fought to keep it safe and free.

Expect a lot of bitching from me over the next 4 years.

I must be having a nightmare. Someone pinch me and tell me this was all a dream.
