4th of July

Proud To Be An American
If tomorrow all the things were gone,
I’d worked for all my life.
And I had to start again,
with just my children and my wife.

I’d thank my lucky stars,
to be livin here today.
‘ Cause the flag still stands for freedom,
and they can’t take that away.

And I’m proud to be an American,
where at least I know I’m free.
And I wont forget the men who died,
who gave that right to me.

And I gladly stand up,
next to you and defend her still today.
‘Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land,
God bless the USA.

From the lakes of Minnesota,
to the hills of Tennessee.
Across the plains of Texas,
From sea to shining sea.

From Detroit down to Houston,
and New York to L.A.
Well there's pride in every American heart,
and its time we stand and say.

That I’m proud to be an American,
where at least I know I’m free.
And I wont forget the men who died,
who gave that right to me.

And I gladly stand up,
next to you and defend her still today.
‘Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land,
God bless the USA.

And I’m proud to be and American,
where at least I know I’m free.
And I wont forget the men who died,
who gave that right to me.

And I gladly stand up,
next to you and defend her still today.
‘Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land,
God bless the USA.

I hope each and every one of you have a safe and enjoyable 4th of July! It seems this is one of those holidays with traditions... ours is to go to the Dieterich parade. That's my FAVORITE parade of the year! It's full of genuine country patriotism. I love it! Plus, I get to show off my name on the Veteran's Memorial Wall to my family. This year Calvin, Caleb, and myself will be walking in the parade, campaigning for Becky Jansen for Effingham County Circuit Clerk! If you see me at the parade - give me an extra shout... we'll have CANDY! :-)

While we're out celebrating our freedom and our patriotism, let's all try to take a few minutes out of our day to think about the men and women in uniform serving our country. They proudly put their lives on the line for the safety of each and every U.S. citizen. We have a strong military - that we should be very proud of! God bless the U.S.A.!!! HOOAH!

Me, too! It's a total tear jerker! I also get teary eyed when the Star Spangled Banner is played... I'm a mushy girl when it comes to patriotism.
